Multi-location brands are strengthening their local search engine optimization foundations to improve visibility in AI-powered search results, industry experts reported Tuesday.
High-quality, localized pages that demonstrate authority are increasingly rewarded by AI-driven search algorithms, influencing brand presence across traditional search results, business listings and AI-generated answers.
Nick Larson, a product manager and local pages expert at Alchemer, emphasized that a strategic framework for local SEO is essential for brands aiming to maintain and enhance their online visibility.
Larson said that key factors influencing visibility in AI search environments include site content, business listings, schema markup and customer reviews.
He highlighted the importance of identifying and prioritizing technical and content signals that are most relevant for AI search.
Alchemer, a company specializing in data collection and insights, reported that AI-powered search places a premium on pages that offer comprehensive and accurate local information.
The company indicated that brands must focus on creating content that not only targets specific local queries but also establishes their credibility and relevance within those local markets.
Effective strategies for multi-location brands involve a consistent approach to managing online presence across all locations, ensuring that each local page provides unique and valuable information to users.
This includes ensuring all local business information, such as addresses, phone numbers and operating hours, is accurate and consistent across all platforms, according to Alchemer.
Furthermore, integrating structured data, or schema markup, helps search engines and AI systems better understand the content and context of local pages, improving their chances of appearing in relevant search results.
Customer reviews also play a significant role, as AI algorithms often factor in user sentiment and experiences when determining the authority and trustworthiness of a local business.
Larson advised brands to actively solicit and respond to customer feedback to build a strong online reputation that resonates with AI search criteria.
