Google released its advanced Gemini 4 Argon AI model to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, developers, and enterprise clients globally on September 30, enhancing multi-step task handling and conversational understanding.
The expansion provides a broader user base with access to the model, which Google said offers significant improvements in interpreting user intent across complex, multi-step tasks and back-and-forth conversations.
Robby Stein, Vice President of Product for Google Search, announced the global rollout, noting that subscribers can switch to Argon through the AI Mode model menu using the ‘+’ icon.
The release ensures that Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, alongside developers and enterprise users, gain simultaneous access to the new capabilities, according to Google.
Google previously introduced Argon as a frontier model designed for specialized applications, including coding, enterprise knowledge work, and cyber defense.
The model was initially released to a select group of trusted cyber defenders through the Fairwind Program before its wider subscription-based rollout.
Unlike some of Google’s prior Flash models, Gemini 4 Argon is exclusively available through paid subscriptions and is not the default option for users on the free tier of AI Mode, Google stated.
