YouTube expanded a new “Get Feedback” tool to all eligible U.S. creators, offering pre-publication suggestions for their Shorts videos before they are published.
The feature, available to creators over 18 using the main YouTube app on Android or iPhone, analyzes video elements like the hook, pacing and visuals to provide insights for improvement without making automatic alterations.
YouTube CEO Neal Mohan initially announced the tool on X on Aug. 24, referring to it as a method for creators to receive tailored suggestions on unlisted drafts.
A Sept. 9 Creator Insider video and a corresponding YouTube Help page further detailed the tool, describing it as an optional button located within the upload flow on the “Add Details” screen.
The company stated that the “Get Feedback” tool offers suggestions based on established best practices, acknowledging that creative approaches and audience preferences vary among creators.
Rene Ritchie, a YouTube Labs representative, explained that the tool is designed to empower creators with insights, allowing them to refine their content before it goes live.
