Google announced updated eligibility criteria for its AI Search features and introduced a new predictive metric, Qualified Future Conversions, aimed at measuring long-term campaign impact globally.
The changes underscore Google‘s strategic focus on AI-driven advertising solutions, prioritizing tools that leverage artificial intelligence for enhanced ad relevance and performance in evolving search environments.
Advertisers seeking eligibility for Google’s AI Search must continue to utilize specific campaign types, including Broad Match, AI Max, Performance Max, Shopping, or Dynamic Search Ads, in conjunction with Smart Bidding, according to Ginny Marvin, Google’s Ads Liaison.
Google’s AI systems are designed to favor AI Max and Performance Max campaigns due to their advanced AI-powered matching capabilities and personalized ad text generation, which are important for maintaining relevance in conversational and multimodal search queries, Marvin stated.
The new Qualified Future Conversions (QFC) metric provides an estimate of conversions expected up to 180 days after an initial ad interaction. This metric is designed to capture the extended impact of advertising campaigns beyond traditional, shorter attribution windows.
Google aims for QFC to offer advertisers a more comprehensive understanding of their campaigns’ long-term value, particularly as customer journeys become more complex and protracted.
In the coming months, Google plans to launch AI Brief, a natural language tool designed to assist advertisers in managing messaging, audience targeting, and matching. This tool will initially be available in English.
The company also reiterated its policy regarding the use of creator videos in advertising campaigns, stating that prior authorization from the creator is mandatory.
These updates reflect Google’s ongoing efforts to integrate artificial intelligence more deeply into its advertising ecosystem, providing tools and metrics tailored to the demands of an increasingly AI-powered digital environment.
