A new three-layer stack is emerging globally to integrate artificial intelligence models directly with live data sources, aiming to enhance the performance and consistency of marketing campaigns.
This approach seeks to overcome limitations of current AI marketing workflows, which often rely on manual data transfers and result in static, outdated analysis, according to industry observations.
The proposed solution comprises three distinct layers: Context Protocol (MCP) for live data access, Skills for maintaining behavioral consistency, and Claude Projects for packaging these capabilities into team-level environments.
MCP functions as an open standard, enabling AI models to connect directly with external tools and real-time data feeds, thereby eliminating the need for manual data export and import processes.
For instance, Google Ads reportedly features an official MCP server, allowing AI models to query live campaign performance data, budget pacing, and cost-per-acquisition (CPA) analysis directly.
Skills represent persistent instructions that define how an AI, such as Claude, should approach specific tasks, ensuring consistent execution and incorporating established best practices.
This layer captures implicit knowledge and best practices, which can be particularly beneficial for marketing agencies in standardizing their AI interactions across various client accounts, according to proponents of the stack.
Claude Projects create persistent, context-rich environments that include their own instructions, knowledge bases, and memory, making the combined MCP and Skills functionalities usable at a team level.
For marketing agencies, Projects can be configured per client, providing a comprehensive context for each, while in-house teams can structure Projects by function or workflow to maintain brand-specific campaign guidelines.
Organizations like Google, Meta, ChatGPT, Claude, and Zapier are among those contributing to the AI and data integration tools ecosystem.
