Google Gemini App Integrates Business Profile Management Tools

Google announced plans to integrate new business management tools, including direct Google Business Profile connectivity and dedicated Business notebooks, into its Gemini artificial intelligence application, rolling out globally this month.

The expansion, unveiled at the company’s Google for Brazil event, marks a significant step in Gemini’s evolution from an AI moderation tool to a comprehensive assistant capable of directly managing business operations, according to Google.

These new features will become available worldwide, with the exception of the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, Google said.

The direct Business Profile connection enables Gemini to access critical business data such as customer reviews, questions and performance metrics.

This access allows the AI to provide assistance for various tasks, including drafting responses to customer inquiries and analyzing overall business performance, the company stated.

Vishnu Sivaji, a Google executive, indicated that these capabilities aim to streamline operations for business owners by leveraging AI insights.

Additionally, the update introduces Business notebooks, which offer a specialized environment for maintaining context across multiple chat sessions.

These notebooks will consolidate chats, source materials, linked Business Profiles and relevant websites, while also surfacing important alerts and notifications for users, Google reported.

The current enhancements build upon previous AI functionalities that Google introduced in May, further solidifying Gemini’s role in supporting small and medium-sized businesses.

Google stated the integration represents a shift towards more direct product management capabilities within the Gemini application, moving beyond its initial focus on content moderation.
