Google began testing a new “Explore more” button within its Discover feed Tuesday, offering users short topic overviews and links to related content, initially focusing on videos.

The feature aims to enhance content exploration by providing quick summaries and connections to broader coverage, including related stories, community reactions, and original reporting.

Robby Stein, Vice President of Product for Google Search, announced the test on X, detailing the initial phase’s emphasis on video content.

An example of the new feature displayed a summary generated with artificial intelligence, which included a disclaimer noting that AI-generated content “can make mistakes.”

Google previously introduced AI previews for trending topics in Discover in October 2025 as part of its ongoing integration of generative AI features.

The company plans to test various designs for both the button and the topic overview in the coming weeks to refine the user experience.

Google also rolled out a generative AI performance report for Discover worldwide on August 31, according to its Search Console help page, though not all properties currently have access.

This Search Console report tracks impressions from “generative AI features in Discover” but does not provide a breakdown of data by specific features like the new “Explore more” button.
