Google on Tuesday added its Gemini 3.8 Flash model to the AI Mode model selection menu for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers globally.
This latest release marks Google’s third Flash model introduction in six weeks, impacting testing and reporting cycles for users of the paid AI Mode.
Robby Stein, Vice President of Product for Google Search, announced the rollout on X, formerly Twitter, sharing screenshots that showed 3.8 Flash listed under ‘Gemini 3 models’ within AI Mode.
The company made Gemini 3.8 Flash immediately available to its paid subscribers worldwide, according to Stein.
The new model follows the release of Gemini 3.7 Flash three weeks prior and Gemini 3.5 Flash in May.
AI Mode now displays 3.8 Flash alongside the Gemini app and Google Sheets as consumer products where Pro and Ultra subscribers can utilize the model.
Free-tier AI Mode users do not have the option to choose their model and continue to use the default model provided by Google.
