Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was identified as the world’s most influential social media individual, accumulating 877.3 million followers across major digital platforms, according to a new analysis released Thursday.

The ranking, which combines follower counts from YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and X (formerly Twitter), highlights the growing global reach of prominent figures in sports, entertainment and content creation.

MrBeast, a YouTube personality, secured the second position with 784.4 million total followers, a figure largely driven by his substantial presence on the video-sharing platform, Search Engine Journal reported.

The analysis indicated that influencers are increasingly diversifying their digital footprints across multiple platforms to maximize their worldwide exposure and engagement.

Other notable figures in the top five included singer Selena Gomez, who ranked third, followed by fellow football icon Lionel Messi and reality television star Kylie Jenner.

The comprehensive list featured a diverse array of personalities, including musicians Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Shakira and Cardi B.

Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson also made the top 10, alongside reality television personalities Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, reflecting their sustained digital prominence.

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and social media sensation Khaby Lame were also among the top-ranked individuals, demonstrating the global nature of digital influence.

Public figures such as Narendra Modi, Ellen DeGeneres, Elon Musk, Kevin Hart and Demi Lovato also appeared on the list, underscoring the broad spectrum of industries represented.

The ranking further included Kourtney Kardashian and Charli D’Amelio, highlighting the impact of family brands and emerging content creators in the digital sphere.

The methodology for the ranking involved aggregating follower data from the four primary social media platforms to provide a holistic view of each individual’s combined digital audience.
