Google expanded its Search profiles for creators and publishers to India and Canada on Tuesday, allowing users in those countries to claim pages that aggregate their content.
The expansion follows the feature’s initial launch in the United States in June, according to Robby Stein, Vice President of Product for Google Search.
The profiles serve as claimable pages that consolidate a source’s articles and social media posts from platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, X and TikTok.
Brazil is scheduled to be the next country where Google will roll out the Search profile feature.
While the initial U.S. launch required creators to be over 18 years old and have at least 10,000 followers on a qualifying social platform, Google did not explicitly clarify if these specific requirements apply to creators in India and Canada.
Google stated that creating a profile does not directly influence a source’s ranking in Search results.
However, the company indicated that the profiles can enhance content visibility within Google Discover for followers of the claimed profile.
Users can set up a profile by visiting profile.google.com/claim and linking an eligible platform account, Google reported.
