Google launched Ask Ad Manager, a new Gemini-powered artificial intelligence assistant, on Monday to help publishers streamline ad operations and inventory management through conversational prompts.

The tool, integrated directly into Google Ad Manager, marks Google’s first AI agent specifically tailored for publishers, aiming to enhance efficiency in managing their advertising ecosystems.

Ask Ad Manager will begin its rollout in beta this month, with Google planning to introduce additional capabilities and features throughout the remainder of the year.

The AI assistant is designed to assist publishers with routine tasks such as troubleshooting delivery issues, generating performance reports and navigating the complexities of the Google Ad Manager platform more efficiently.

Unlike Ask Advisor, a separate AI tool aimed at advertisers, Ask Ad Manager focuses exclusively on publisher needs, leveraging account-level data to provide relevant insights and support for inventory and ad operations, a company statement indicated.

Google advised publishers participating in the beta program to assess the tool’s effectiveness in reducing the time spent on repetitive tasks.

The company also cautioned beta users to validate all AI-generated responses due to the experimental nature of the technology at this stage.

The introduction of Ask Ad Manager underscores Google’s broader strategy to integrate advanced AI capabilities across its advertising product suite, providing specialized tools for different segments of its user base.
