Google Analytics launched new customizable dashboards globally today, enabling users to consolidate key performance indicators and enhance data visualization for businesses.
The update streamlines reporting capabilities within the platform, offering a redesigned interface that supports drag-and-drop functionality and direct publishing to the left navigation panel, Search Engine Roundtable reported.
Users can now create dashboards featuring six distinct visualization types: scorecards, detailed tables, line charts, bar charts, donut charts, and conversion funnels. This variety provides a comprehensive view of metrics on a single page.
Dashboard creation is restricted to users with Editor and Administrator profiles. However, viewing access is available to all users who possess property access, ensuring broader team engagement with the data.
Standard Google Analytics properties are limited to 15 cards per dashboard, while premium properties can incorporate up to 30 cards. This tiered capacity caters to varying organizational needs and data complexity.
The new feature simplifies the visualization of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by allowing users to tailor their dashboards to specific reporting requirements.
Google indicated that while the initial rollout provides substantial enhancements, certain functionalities are currently limited. These limitations include a lack of API support, no segment usage, and the inability to compare individual cards.
Future updates are expected to address these current restrictions, further expanding the utility and integration capabilities of the customizable dashboards, Google representatives reported.
