Google’s Chrome Auto-Browse will complete tasks like form filling and appointment booking on websites when it becomes a default system-level feature on Android in late June, marking a significant shift from existing AI agents.

This new capability contrasts with Apple‘s Siri AI, which primarily reads web content to answer user questions and operates within applications but does not navigate websites to perform actions, according to industry observers.

Both AI agents reportedly utilize models derived from Google‘s Gemini family, underscoring a shared technological foundation despite their divergent functionalities.

The Chrome Auto-Browse feature represents a new class of “agent-as-visitor” that is enabled by default, unlike previous AI agents that required users to opt in, No Hacks reported.

Website owners should test their high-value task flows against non-human interaction to ensure functionality, according to digital marketing experts.

They also advised website administrators to ensure their content is well-structured for reading agents such as Siri, facilitating accurate information retrieval.

The distinction for website owners lies between AI agents that merely read content and those that actively perform tasks on their sites, potentially affecting user experience and data collection.
