An SEO expert developed a personalized knowledge base using Google‘s Open Knowledge Format (OKF) to enhance productivity and foster an agentic web environment.
Marie Haynes constructed a system she termed an ‘OKF brain,’ which standardizes information into a machine-readable format, allowing artificial intelligence agents to process and understand content without requiring specialized software.
The system employs YAML frontmatter, an index file, and markdown files to organize data, according to Haynes. This structure enables AI agents like Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, or Google’s Antigravity to interact with and utilize the information effectively.
Haynes’s OKF brain categorizes information into distinct types, including concepts, entities, playbooks, references, and systems. The system automatically establishes connections between related content, creating a comprehensive network of knowledge.
This structured approach facilitates the visualization of the knowledge base as a graph, which illustrates relationships between various information sources such as AI Overviews, Google documentation, and internal playbooks, Haynes reported.
The system automates the ingestion of new information and performs daily checks on Google’s documentation for updates. Haynes stated that this automation ensures the knowledge base remains current and notifies her of any changes.
Haynes highlighted the practical benefits of the system, noting that playbooks developed within the OKF brain, such as those for client proposals and site impact analyses following Google updates, substantially reduce manual effort and time.
She encouraged other professionals to experiment with Google’s Open Knowledge Format. Haynes also provided prompts and resources designed to assist AI agents in constructing similar personalized knowledge systems.
