Anthropic launched ‘Claude Tag‘ globally Tuesday, integrating its artificial intelligence assistant, Claude, directly into Slack channels for enhanced workplace collaboration.
The new feature allows users to assign tasks to Claude within existing Slack workflows, positioning the AI as a persistent team member capable of managing long-running assignments and building context over time.
Anthropic stated its internal product team uses a version of Claude Tag to generate approximately 65 percent of its code, indicating the AI’s practical application in development work.
Claude can leverage memory, scheduled tasks, and tool access to support its assignments, evolving its capabilities with prolonged use, according to the company.
The feature is currently available in beta for Anthropic‘s Claude Enterprise and Team customers, with plans for broader expansion to other user tiers.
Administrators can manage Claude’s access to various tools and set spending limits, providing control over its operational scope within an organization.
Anthropic aims for AI agents to function as assistants rather than replacements for human workers, enhancing productivity through collaborative integration into communication platforms like Slack.
