Google has begun rolling out new artificial intelligence features in its Search platform, allowing U.S. users to book hotels directly and offering global flight price alerts and rewards redemption options.
The expansion aims to streamline travel planning by integrating these functionalities directly into AI Mode conversations, according to the company.
U.S. users can now complete eligible hotel reservations through a “Continue on Google” flow, utilizing Google Pay for transactions within AI Mode. Initial hotel booking partners include major platforms such as Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Priceline, and Trip.com.
Several prominent hotel chains are also participating, including Choice Hotels International, Hilton, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Google reported.
Globally, excluding the European Economic Area, users can now set up flight price tracking during an AI Mode conversation. This feature provides email alerts when prices change for specified routes and dates, available in more than 180 countries.
AI Mode also gained the ability to display the points or miles required for supported flights and hotels. This initial phase supports loyalty programs from Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels, Hilton, and Wyndham.
Google stated that additional partners for points and miles redemption are expected to be added in the coming weeks. These include Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines, and Lufthansa Group.
The company said in a statement that these updates represent a step toward making travel planning more integrated and efficient within its search ecosystem.
