A new EmDash plugin, Coywolf Pack, developed by veteran SEO expert Jon Henshaw, offers advanced website management, performance and search engine optimization features.
The plugin aims to significantly enhance EmDash website functionality and speed, even while introducing numerous new features, according to its developer.
Henshaw, who serves as Director of Audience Management at Yahoo and has more than 30 years of experience in the SEO field, developed Coywolf Pack to address various challenges faced by website administrators and content creators.
Key improvements delivered by the plugin fall into three main categories: Publishing and Management, SEO and Website Performance. These enhancements include features like backup solutions, secure storage options and advanced video capabilities.
For SEO, Coywolf Pack expands crawler controls, integrates structured data, supports Google News sitemaps, implements IndexNow and provides LLMs.txt for large language model directives, along with Markdown versions of content.
The plugin also substantially improves the migration process for websites moving from WordPress to EmDash. It preserves critical elements such as heading IDs and redirects from popular SEO plugins like Yoast, Rank Math and Redirection.
Furthermore, Coywolf Pack ensures comprehensive media URL preservation and maintains the parent-child hierarchy for categories and pages during migration, according to EmDash.
Addressing niche WordPress import issues, the plugin supports co-authors and guest authors, integrating data from plugins such as Co-Authors Plus, PublishPress Authors and Coywolf Guest Author.
Henshaw’s background includes roles at CNET, Vimeo, Paramount+, Pluto TV, Showtime, Raven Tools and Cloudflare Stream, contributing to the plugin’s comprehensive approach to website optimization.
The developer stated that the plugin was designed to deliver “absurdly fast” websites, a critical factor for user experience and search engine rankings.
