Global SEO agencies are increasingly adopting AI agents to automate time-consuming tasks, enhance scalability, and refocus human consultants on strategic planning and client engagement, according to industry observers.
This shift addresses long-standing structural challenges within the SEO sector, including difficulties in recruitment, pressure on profit margins, and the emerging complexity of measuring brand visibility across new AI search platforms.
Unlike traditional AI tools, AI agents can execute entire tasks autonomously across multiple client websites simultaneously, offering significant scalability, said Sedestral, a platform developing such agents. This capability allows agencies to manage a larger client portfolio without proportional increases in staffing.
Sedestral highlighted its suite of AI agents, including Rémi, Nox, Marc, and Maya, which can automate diverse SEO functions. These tasks range from keyword research and content publishing to page optimization, indexation monitoring, competitive intelligence, and link building.
The platform allows agencies to customize the deployment of these AI agents for each client. Usage can be set to fully automatic, require manual validation, or be deactivated entirely, providing flexibility and preventing complete automation of client strategies.
Agencies can also offer white-label SEO services through Sedestral, providing clients with transparent access to the AI agents’ work and detailed performance reports, the company reported.
The growing prominence of AI-driven search engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity, alongside Google‘s AI Overviews, is making brand visibility measurement in these new channels crucial for clients by 2026. AI agents are positioned to help track this evolving metric.
Despite the advancements in automation, the core responsibilities of SEO consultants remain centered on strategy development, making critical decisions, managing client relationships, and ensuring accountability, according to an analysis by Abondance. AI agents currently lack the business judgment required for these higher-level functions.
