GLOBAL — Yoast SEO on Tuesday released an update to its Task List feature, introducing new tasks, improved navigation and bug fixes designed to enhance site optimization for users.
The update aims to streamline the process of improving website search engine optimization (SEO) by providing more direct guidance and resolving several technical issues that affected user experience.
Three new tasks have been added to the Yoast SEO Task List, according to a statement from the company. These additions include improving meta descriptions, deleting sample pages and setting social sharing images for platforms like Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).
The updated Task List now offers direct navigation, allowing users to move immediately to the exact section of the editor where an issue needs correction. This feature, which directs users to specific fields such as the SEO tab or readability panel, is intended to reduce scrolling and accelerate the resolution of identified problems.
A significant bug fix addresses an issue where task descriptions were displayed in the site’s default language rather than the logged-in user’s preferred language. This correction improves usability for individuals working on multilingual WordPress sites.
WordPress users running version 7.0 or higher will also see a new Yoast tab on their Plugins screen. This tab groups all installed Yoast plugins in one location, centralizing management for users with multiple Yoast products.
Yoast also resolved an issue where changes made to alt text within How-to and FAQ blocks were not saving correctly to the frontend of websites. This fix ensures that accessibility improvements and SEO efforts related to image descriptions are properly implemented.
Param Chandarana, a spokesperson for Yoast, said the updates were part of an ongoing effort to make SEO more accessible and efficient for website administrators. Chandarana added that future updates would introduce additional tasks specifically for users of paid Yoast plans.
