MOUNTAIN VIEW, United States – Google is hiring a Senior Product Manager to develop new artificial intelligence (AI) sharing and notification features within Google Search, a move that could significantly alter search engine optimization (SEO) and user traffic attribution.
The role, titled Senior Product Manager, AI Google Search Growth, aims to lead the roadmap for a “Share System” and “Live Notifications” across Google’s search platform, according to a recent job posting.
Based in Mountain View, California, the position involves creating new AI sharing mechanisms and offers an annual salary range of $192,000 to $278,000.
SEO consultant Eli Schwartz suggested this initiative represents a convergence of “Dark SEO” and “Dark Social” into what he termed “AI Social.” He said this new paradigm would involve users sharing AI experiences rather than direct links to original content sources.
This shift could lead to a reduction in referral traffic for informational content, making a brand’s direct presence within AI-generated responses increasingly important, Schwartz said.
The new features are designed to transform Google Search from a largely individual experience into a “multiplayer” retention engine, enabling shared AI conversations and push notifications to users.
