Google’s AI Mode now allows users in the United States to directly book and request quotes for home services through integrations with partner platforms, the company announced on Tuesday.
The new functionality enables consumers to connect with service providers via direct links to companies like Angi, Thumbtack, Housecall Pro, and Jobber, streamlining the process of securing home maintenance and repair services.
Robby Stein, Google Search Product Vice President, confirmed the feature’s availability in the U.S. on X, highlighting a shift in how the technology giant facilitates local service acquisition.
Unlike Google’s existing Local Services Ads, which charge businesses for leads, several integrated partners are not imposing lead fees for requests originating from Google AI Mode.
Jobber and Housecall Pro, two of the participating platforms, have stated that businesses receiving customer requests through this Google integration will not incur lead generation fees.
Eligibility requirements for businesses vary by partner platform. Jobber, for instance, mandates an active paid subscription, a complete business address, and a connected Google Business Profile for participation.
Conversely, Housecall Pro automatically enrolls its professional users into the new system without requiring them to have an existing Google Business Profile, according to the company.
Sam Pillar, CEO and co-founder of Jobber, told Reuters that the integration helps home service businesses connect with more customers and grow their operations.
Roland Ligtenberg, co-founder of Housecall Pro, said in a statement that the initiative simplifies the customer journey from search to booking.
This development aims to simplify the research and booking process for users while providing new avenues for home service businesses to acquire customers without the traditional lead costs associated with some other Google offerings.
