Jahidul Islam
Software Specialist at Nokia
Saeed: “Hey everyone, welcome back to The Rabbit Rank Hour! Today’s guest is someone I’ve been dying to get on the show because, honestly, who doesn’t want to talk shop with a software wizard? Jahidul Islam, Nokia’s very own software specialist, is here with us. Jahidul, welcome to the show!”
Jahidul: “Thanks for having me, Saeed. And ‘wizard’? That’s some big hype. I might disappoint.”
Saeed: “Please. You’re one ‘npm install’ away from Hogwarts.”
(Laughter)
Saeed: “Alright, so today we’re diving into the techy rabbit hole of React JS, Node JS, Vercel, V0, and Bolt.new. Sounds like a lot, but I promise we’ll keep it chill. First up—React. Everyone talks about it like it’s the Beyoncé of frameworks. What’s your take? Love it? Hate it?”
Jahidul: “React is amazing, no doubt. But you know, it’s also like IKEA furniture. Great design, but sometimes you just sit there with a pile of pieces and no clue where that one screw is supposed to go. You’re like, ‘Is this a React problem or a me problem?’”
Saeed: “Oh my God, I feel that! And then there’s useEffect, which I swear has more drama than a Netflix series.”
Jahidul: “Exactly! You miss one dependency array, and bam—you’ve got an infinite loop. It’s like Groundhog Day, but with code.”
Reacting to React (Pun Absolutely Intended)
Saeed: “For those listening who might not know, React’s whole deal is making UI development easier, right? But let’s be honest, it’s not a magic wand. Jahidul, how do you approach those moments when React makes you question your life choices?”
Jahidul: “Oh, man. I remind myself that React is just a tool. Like, yes, you can yell at it—or cry, depending on how your day’s going—but at the end of the day, it’s there to make your app functional and scalable. The trick is to embrace the quirks and not over-engineer. Sometimes, simple is better.”
Saeed: “Wise words. So, from React to Node JS—kind of like going from painting the house to building the house, right? What’s your take on Node?”
Node JS: The Engine That Could
Jahidul: “Node JS is brilliant. It’s like this engine that makes everything run faster, smoother, and with way less hassle. But… it’s also the Wild West. I mean, there are so many packages out there that you sometimes wonder, ‘Why does this even exist?’”
Saeed: “Okay, you have to tell me—what’s the weirdest Node package you’ve ever stumbled on?”
Jahidul: “There’s one called ‘is-even.’ You literally install it to check if a number is even. I was like, ‘You’re joking, right? It’s one line of code!’”
Saeed: “The irony is, it probably has millions of downloads. Shoutout to developers who find the weirdest ways to make our lives more ‘efficient.’”
Deploying with Vercel: The Good, the Bad, and the ‘OMG It Works!’
Saeed: “Okay, so Node’s great for backend stuff. Let’s talk deployment. Vercel—what’s the verdict?”
Jahidul: “Vercel is like that friend who’s super organized and always on time. You hand over your project, and it’s live in minutes. Plus, the built-in CI/CD workflow? Chef’s kiss.”
Saeed: “But let’s be real—ever had a Vercel deployment go horribly wrong?”
Jahidul: “Oh, absolutely. I once deployed an app where I’d forgotten to set the environment variables. So instead of a sleek login page, users got a very public view of my console logs. It was… humbling.”
Saeed: “The Internet never forgets. But hey, at least Vercel makes rolling back easy, right?”
V0 and Bolt.new: The New Kids on the Block
Saeed: “Alright, let’s talk about the new kids—V0 and Bolt.new. They’re not as mainstream yet, but what’s your take? Are they the next big thing?”
Jahidul: “I think they’ve got potential. V0’s modular approach is interesting—it’s like LEGO for developers. And Bolt.new? That one’s all about speed. They’re trying to solve the ‘slow build time’ problem, which, let’s be honest, is a nightmare for all of us.”
Saeed: “Totally. Do you think they’ll ever outshine the big players like React and Vercel?”
Jahidul: “Hard to say. It’s like asking if a new band can dethrone The Beatles. They’ve got to prove themselves, but they’re worth keeping an eye on.”
Wrap-Up: Lessons Learned in the Tech Trenches
Saeed: “Alright, Jahidul, before we wrap up, any advice for devs out there who are juggling all these tools and feeling overwhelmed?”
Jahidul: “Yeah, don’t try to master everything at once. Pick one thing, get good at it, then move on. And don’t be afraid to Google stuff. Even the best devs Google. A lot.”
Saeed: “Preach. Alright, folks, that’s it for today. Thanks for tuning in, and a huge thanks to Jahidul for dropping some serious knowledge bombs. Catch you all next time on The Rabbit Rank Show!”
